Mikako Koda:
The main character. Although she seems to be a perfect housekeeper - she always cooks for her mother, keeps clean and so on - she's used to behaving like a childish girl. It's her practice to change drastically her look when something goes wrong or she feels upset.
She has a great dream: it's to become a famous styler with her own brand "Happy Berry" and she spends all her life to make this dream come true.

Tsutomu Yamaguchi:
Mikako's neighbour and her best friend since childhood.
He really looks Ken Nagawa,a popular idol, and this makes him very popular and makes Mikako feel very jealus.
Tsutomu has never had a personal dream, but towards the end of the manga he starts liking photograph.
Tsutomu also looks like a pupular idol called Ken Nakagawa, which is a character from another manga of Yazawa-sensei: Tenshi nanka ja nai.

Risa Kanzaki:
Risa is Mikako's best friend and studies to become a great designer for children's clothing. She lives with her boyfriend Takeshi who wants to become a famous rocker. She seems to be a very quiet girl, but she's not (look at the Fashion Show part, where she sings wearing furs).
She uses to wear like a punk-rocker, she has red hair and she's very tall.

Mai Oota (Pii-chan):
One of Risa and Mikako's good friends, P-chan is a short and cute girl who wants to become a designer of pets. She has a little pet that she carries everywhere called Petit Francoise; her dream man must be a prince with tights and she thinks she has finally found him when she first met .. Kisaraji! XD
Her name comes from her voice, which is really high and so it seems she's always peeping.

Yuusuke Tashiro:
He's the co-founder of the Akindo with Tsutomu. He likes very much girls and rides an Honda Club. He's a very good artist when he applies but this happens very rarely; in Akindo he draws portraits. He goes out with Mariko, even if he has a good feeling with Ayumi; then in the end of the manga he and Mariko break up and he starts to date with Ayumi and they will get married.

Ayumi Oikawa:
Tsutomu's classmate and friend. She's cute, smart and sweet but she lacks a little of self-confidence, above all as far as in love matters.
She likes Yuusuke and even more his beautiful paintings, but she's too shy to try to separate him from Mariko.

Jiro Nishino:
Tsutomu's classmate, he's a skilled game programmer. He talks using Kansai dialect, and he's really poor. He has purple hairs and a pair of glasses he never takes off .. How are Jiro's eyes? Only Mikako could tell us! XD

Mariko Nakasu:
Nicknamed "Nike Body-ko" for her beautiful body, she's Tsutomu's first girlfriend (she starts to date with him only because he looks like Ken of the idol group Mambo). They break up when she understand that she's still in love with her first boyfriend Shuu and above all that Tsutomu loves Mikako.
After this she starts a love affair with Yuusuke, but they go on fighting despite the love they feel for each other, and near the end of the manga they break up for good.
A part for this she's rich, spoiled, selfish, idler and above all she's a very attractive girl.
