When they where two little children, older girls like to take him because there was a song called "Tsutomu Yamaguchi" and now that they are attending the high schools, any girl, included the older ones, are interested in him because of his resemblance with a popular idol: Ken Nakakawa of Mambo (An idol rock group very popular).
This really annoyes Mikako who is always complaining about this situation with her best frineds Lisa and Pi-chan .. those two are convinced that she loves Tsutomu but Mikako claims that he's only her childhood friend.

A day Mikako comes back home after school and she sees Tsutomu and Mariko - nicknamed Nice Body-ko because she's the most attractive girl of the school - kissing each others and when Mariko leaves, she slaps Tsutomu while he's trying to explain, then Tsutomu tries to stop her... Their quarrel go on even when they enter into the Blue Parrot, a pub owned by Hiroaki Tokumori, (who lives in their same building but upstairs). Tokumori is considered by both a sort of older brother, and he's used to be the peacemaker in Mikako and Tsutomu's "fights"
Anyway, while Tsutomu is at the bathroom Mikako leaves, and this gives the two men the chance to talk. Tsutomu reveals to Hiroaki what he really thinks about the entire situation: in his opinion a love affair with Mikako would never attain an happy end.

Meanwhile, Mikako finds a little black cat in the park and she falls asleep there with the cat. The dark comes and she hasn't come back home yet. This makes the whole family (Mikako's mother, Tsutomu, Tsutomu's parents and Noriji) go out to look for her. It's Tsutomu who finds her in the park and takes her home just like he did when they where six and Mikako run away from home because their parents were divorcing.
So, they all come back home and Ruriko and Mikako decide to keep the little black cat and Mikako decides to call him Kuro; Mikako apologizes to Tsutomu and they say goodnight to each other.
