Mariko hasn't come to school yet, so Shintaro takes everyone over to her flat, and she's really touched because of their worrying for her. She's forced to join the Akindo, because Yuusuke wants to use her flat as a meeting hall for the Akindo group.

Walking back home Mikako thinks that since Mariko has been rejected by Shuu, she would return to Tsutomu.

Mikako inaugurates her new brand: "Happy Berry" but the other memebers of the Akindo are too busy to listen to her. ^_^
They are all at Mariko's house, and when she receives a call and then leaves, Yuusuke decides to go to the supermarket. Mariko and Yusuke take the elevator together, and Mariko says that, despite all the men who want to have a date with her, she doesn't want any new boyfriend, because in her heart there's only Shuu. Yuusuke is a bit shocked by this. In fact, back to the apartment, he takes a phone call for Mariko, and he angrily tells the guy to not call again. Tsutomu criticizes this behaviour and Yuusuke tells to Tsutomu that he should take responsibility, because it was him who dumped Mariko. Everyone is shocked, because they think that Mariko dumped down Tsutomu. As Tsutomu silently leaves, Mikako follows him.

Mikako can't believe that Tsutomu didn't do nothing at all to shut up Yuusuke, but Tsutomu tells that Yuusuke is right; Mikako says that's not true, that he's always nice with everyone and that she is can't be wrong because she has known him for sixteen years. When Tsutomu says that she always addresses to him as "saru" and other similar not nice words, she says that "I can't stand when anyoune apart from me says anything bad about you" and starts to crying. Then Mikako asks: "Why did you break up with Mariko?" and Tsutomu responds: "I thought I told you".
Mikako doesn't understand.

The next day, Mikako meets Yuusuke, who has come to apologize to Tsutomu. Before he can leave she asks who is Tsutomu's favourite. And Yuusuke says: "It's you off course!". Mikako is shocked and when she thinks about it she understands it couldn't be anyone else.

Chapter 8: A good feeling
Mikako wants to treat Tsutomu as usual, but it ends that they quarrel more then ever. They are leaving to go to the Flea Market, with the other Akindo, and then they decide to go to Risa's place and pick her up. As they arrive, Risa is just leaving, and kissing Takeshi goodbye.
On the train, Tsutomu ask if it's okay that she go out with her friends instead of spending the saturday with her boyfriend and she replies that they live together, so she can see him anytime.

At the Flea Market, Mikako is disappointed she didn't know nothing about this matter, and moreover that her best friend never told her she had a boyfriend and that they live together. She finds out that P-chan knows about Takeshi, and gives her a bad reply, hurting P-chan who leaves alone.
Risa tells Mikako that she's sprry she never told her about Takeshi, but she was worried that Mikako would look down on her for this. Since she couldn't imagine her life without Takeshi, when he decided to come to Tokyo, Risa followed him and enrolled in Yazagaku. She also says that her dream would ever remain a dream, if she didn't have Takeshi.

Mikako tries to calm down shopping alone. As she try to buy some hair slides with black cats, she finds an hat perfect for P-chan, so she buy it, and she runs looking for P-chan, forgetting her hair slides. She gives her the hat saying: "You and Risa are my best friends, and you are both precious to me, with no preferences". When she remembers about the black cat elastics, she go back where she bought them, just to find out the that the girl sell them to another person.

Later all the Akindo members decide what everyone should do for the Akindo to sell at Flea Market and Tsutomu sayshe will prepare doing a big bill for the Akindo.

After this, as they are going home, Tsutomu gives to Mikako the hair slides with the black cats that he bought for her at the flea market.
Mikako wishes she could be the good kind of girl that could return his affection.

Chapter 9: Love
Tsutomu introduces a new classmate to Mikako: Ayumi Oikawa. Mikako is disappointed that she calls him only by his name, and she thinks that she may not be the Tsutomu's "favourite" as Yusuke told her.
Meanwhile, Tsutomu leaves with Ayumi, and she offers to him her home's dependance to make the sign for the Akindo and they start working together.
Later, Mikako points out that non-members shouldn't work on club projects and Tsutomu gets angry and tells that she shouldn't tell him what to do just because she doesn't care.
That night Mikako cries and thinks: "Mama, you make great comics but your daughter is a failure. What should I do? How can I become a nicer person?"

The following day Tsutomu is a little sad, and then Yusuke decides to help with the sign and Mikako is glad that Tsutomu will not work alone with Ayumi again.

Mariko sees Yuusuke leaving with Ayumi and decides to help them with the sign.

Late that night, Mikako is happy because she has finished ten clothes for the Flea Market and decides to go to tell this Tsutomu when Tsutomu comes over and tells her he wants her to see the finished sign immediately. Its name is "Berry-chan the Happy Angel" and it resembles Mikako and Mikako's brand.
Mikako: "This is the sign? This weird doll?"
Tsutomu: "Weird?"
Ayumi: "Tsutomu ..."
Mikako (angrily to Ayumi): "Don't call him 'Tsutomu'!" Ayumi and Body-ko tactfully leave Mikako and Tsutomu alone.
Tsutomu (laughing): "It was this! It was my being friendly with Ayumi that made you angry?"
Mikako (crying): "Tsutomu, having a friend like me ... aren't you fed up of me?"
Tsutomu (referring to Berry-chan): Looking at Berry-chan, can't you feel my love for you?"
Mikako: [I feel it ..] Tsutomu .. I was happy, really.
Mikako: [Tsutomu is so sweet .. he turn a failure like me in that cute angel .. and now it's time for me to born again]

Chapter 10: Destiny
While they are kissing in front of Berry-chan, Mikako thinks that she and Tsutomu are fated for eachother.

Meanwhile at the market, Ayumi and Mariko are killing time and they starts to talk about Yuusuke. Ayumi asks if Mariko and Yuusuke are going steady, and Mariko answers: "So what if I was?"

Mikako and Tsutomu go back home as the sun rises.

Then, Mariko would like to answer to Ayumi's question, when Yuusuke arrives; while Mariko is at the toilette, Ayumi tells him how nice he's to come and pick her girl and he replies: "Mariko's not my girlfriend; you can say she's using me to get around". And then he and Mariko leave.
Ayumi remembers of the first time she has seen a Yuusuke canvas and her grandfather favourite sentence: "The canvas is a mirror of the artist's soul" and then she says "After all .. I want to know him better".

Mariko receives a postcard from Shuu telling that he will come and visit next weekend.

Ruriko is worried about Mikako and Tsutomu now that they are no more like children.
